International Nurses Day 2020

Today is International Nurses Day 2020 which is celebrated each year on the 12th May as it is Florence Nightingale’s birthday and this year sees the celebration of her 200th birthday.

Florence Nightingale, also known as the Lady with the Lamp, was born in Florence, Italy while her parents were staying there on an extended holiday’. She is the founder of modern nursing and most people remember her for her nursing efforts during the Crimean War with her team of nurses.

We would like to add our massive Thank You to all nurses everywhere in whatever section of the community you work in especially during this Covid-19 pandemic. You are all amazing people and we would not be here if it wasn’t for you all.

This is a video from the Royal College of Nursing that we feel is worth watching and sharing.
