
A healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to mean you can’t enjoy life every day. There are a lot of activities that are fun and pleasurable which can help you live a long and healthy life. By understanding how we can use these activities to help you live longer, healthier and have a happier life.
1. Red Wine
Red wine is packed with resveratrol, an antioxidant. These work to protect your body against the effects of aging. One or 2 glasses of red wine a day can help keep your body young. Now isn’t that a good start.
2. Dark Chocolate
Dark chocolate is a wonderful food that contains a large amount of antioxidants that protect your body from aging. Find good quality dark chocolate, learn to appreciate it, and have1 or 2 squares each day. Eating dark chocolate may lower your blood pressure and cholesterol while providing an energy boost. Still sounding good?
3. Smile Please
Smiling is a great way to change your attitude, connect with people and give benefit to your body. Like relaxation, smiling can work to counteract the effects of stress. By forcing ourselves to smile, we “trick” our body into believing that everything is good, thereby reducing stress. Like a switch, smiling can actually change your mood. So put a smile on, even if you don’t feel like it, and pretty soon you’ll be smiling for real.
4. Have More Sex
Our bodies senses need to be touched to increase our self-love and self-wealth and it is thought that Sex and touching are essential parts of health. Sex releases an assortment of beneficial chemicals in the body. Sex and touching help us bond with others, strengthens relationships, and increases our own wellbeing. Frequent sex may even extend your life by years.
5. Relax More
Relaxation is the opposite of stress. While stress brings harmful health effects, with the negativity making changes to our cells, being relaxed helps our bodies rest, heal and function better. By practicing daily relaxation techniques, you can train yourself to turn off your stress and replace it with calm energy and in so doing improve your blood pressure, heart rate and ability to cope with life’s challenges. Meditation is an ideal way of relaxing the mind body and Spirit.
6. Make Exercise Play, Have Fun
By making exercise play and not a chore you will more likely continue with the activity and a good way to keep both your body and mind healthy. Anything from simple exercises to walking are great for maintaining balance, flexibility, endurance, and strength. Team or group games and sports can keep your mind active and sharp as well, as you work together as a team. There are games and activities to suit all levels of fitness, it is becoming popular to have teams of walking football, walking rugby and other sports which allows you continue playing your favourite game for longer
7. Sleep
Sleep is an essential body function. As we get older many people do not get enough sleep and sleep only a fraction of the time that is healthy for them. Ideally, we need between 7 and 9 hours sleep a night but as some people become older, they find that increasingly difficult especially if they are taking medications, suffering from stress, illness, and poor sleep habits. The health benefits of sleep are important and include more energy, better immune function, relaxation, and a general sense of wellbeing.
8. Spend Time With Friends and Family
All relationships are an important part of health and one of the most distressing things of the last few months is not being able to spend time with friends and family. When we have strong ties with other people it usually means that you will have help when you need it, and being connected usually means that there are people around you a lot of the time and that will help protect you from loneliness, depression, and mental illness. Over the last months many people have been deprived of this connection and it has been clear that people in isolation clearly suffer with the lack of connection. Thankfully things are beginning to return to some sort of normal and we need to spend time re-cultivating your relationships with friends and family to improve your health and your life.
9. Keep Your Mind Active
Mind games, Quizzes and Brain Teaser puzzles are a great way to stay involved and engaged in the world which in turn keeps your mind active and sharp, keeping your brain younger too. Games can exercise different parts of your mind and so a variety of these is the best way of keeping your brain healthy and sharp. By choose social games like chess or bridge, quizzes and board games you will improve your mind while keeping your connection with others.
10. Be Positive
Having a positive attitude about anything, including aging can add more than seven years to your life, according to researchers. Keeping a positive attitude will keep you young at heart, avoiding negative thoughts will allow you to enjoy your life and not spending time looking back with the thought If only. Learning new skills, a new language, take up painting, enjoy greater learning, experience, and put control in your life.
There is a saying that I really love and that is so appropriate for this article “You don’t stop dancing because you grow old. You grow old because you stop dancing”
